Belarus recommends the WHO to take measures to ensure quick resolution of the crisis on the border, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko told the media before his meeting with WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge on 23 November, BelTA has learned.
“We had a meeting with Hans Kluge a month ago as part of the CIS Healthcare Cooperation Council. COVID was a burning issue then and it is still on the agenda. Today, however, there is also another issue introduced from outside. Belarus did not initiate it and has not contributed to the situation at the border. It concerns refugees who want to enter the European Union, but they are not allowed into the territory of the European Union by all means, including by force,” the deputy prime minister said.
Igor Petrishenko said that the WHO within its mandate ensures the provision and promotion of medical care for this category of people. “Within the framework of the agenda, which is under consideration by the WHO, it is the facilitation and response to emergency situations, the preservation of health of women, children and adolescents. This is the most pressing issue. We are discussing this issue today with Hans Kluge. Moreover, we have initiated the issue so that he would bring truthful and objective information to the WHO leadership, so that appropriate decisions could be made,” he said.
According to the deputy prime minister, Belarus, as a member of the Executive Committee of the World Health Organization, would initiate an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee to consider in detail the information about those disproportionate and cruel actions of Poland, which do not meet the norms and principles of international law. “The meeting is needed for all our colleagues who are members of the WHO to look at how healthcare is ensured by the European Union. We care about effective assistance, we are not interested in this camp, which we have provided with appropriate living conditions, existing for a long time. We strongly recommend to take really effective measures in order to ensure a quick resolution of this crisis at the border,” stressed Igor Petrishenko.

Lieber Dietmar,
das ist wirklich ein Dudelsack :) In Belarus wird es aber Dudá genannt. Eigentlich ist Duda ein belarussisches traditionelles Musikinstrument. Übrigens gibt es viele Arten und Formen von Dudelsack in verschiedenen Kulturen und Ländern von Südamerica bis Indien.
PS: das Lied ist Каляда На Балоце von Тутэйшая Шляхта. ;)
