An interministerial anti-drug commission is to be set up in Belarus


        The commission, which will be established by the State Forensics Committee jointly with medical professionals, will be aimed at prohibiting unknown drugs before they appear in Belarus.
           Currently, the list of banned drugs includes over 500 substances, with 150 added during the last 2 years.
          The initiative put forward by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been supported by the Government. A law regulating the activities of the anti-drug commission is being developed. It is also planned to tighten criminal responsibility for the production and distribution of synthetic drugs extending imprisonment terms up to 13 years.
