Cultural program plan for 2014 IIHF World Championship approved



        The Minsk City Hall jointly with the Culture Ministry has approved a plan for the cultural program during the 2014 IIHF World Championship, the press service of the Minsk City Hall reports. The plan envisages festivals, concerts, museum projects, Days of the Belarusian Cinema, arts and crafts trading shows. The modern art expo will be held in Belarus during the world sport forum. The National Exhibition Center Belexpo will display works of young Belarusian artists (painting, sculpture, art objects, installations, video art and photography). The Contemporary Art Museum will feature the Belarusian avant-garde as Belarus’ art phenomenon of the 20th century. Among the planned events is a cultural project, Night of Museums, a project, An Artist and the City on Yakub Kolas Square, a music project, Jazz Saturdays at the Palace of Sports, a theater project, Street Theater in Minsk, a nationwide festival-fair, Vyasnovy Buket, in the Loshitsa Park. The Upper Town will host numerous events as part of the music and tourism season. The plan will include theater plays, exhibition and other cultural events. The museums will work longer hours during the world championship.
