Belarus 11th in Olympic biathlon mixed relay

Belarus’ relay team of Lyudmila Kalinchik, Anastasia Duborezova, Vladimir Chepelin and Yevgeny Abramenko finished 11th in the 2014 Sochi Olympic mixed relay. Belarusians, with nine spares, were 3:54.8 back from the winners, Norway.
Belarusian biathlete Yevgeny Abramenko who took part in the mixed relay, believes that the 11th spot by the Belarusian team in the final standings did not satisfy his teammates.
“The race itself was not bad. I had low starting positions leaving for the final leg. I tried to abstract and just concentrated on the run. I did well in shooting without any spare rounds. As a result I managed to improve the run by three positions in comparison with my start,” Yevgeny Abramenko said.
In his words, the team’s mistakes on the track will be thoroughly examined. According to the biathlete: “It would be great to show a better result. You always want to be as high as possible in the final standings,” the athlete stressed.
