Belarus boosts food exports to Kazakhstan

Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Yuri Gorlov held bilateral meetings with key international partners on the sidelines of a meeting of the EAEU Council on Agro-Industrial Policy in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA.


Yuri Gorlov met with Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Oksana Lut, and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jihad of Iran Akbar Fathi. The talks focused on expanding trade, cooperation projects, and food supplies.

In H1 2026, Belarusian food exports to Kazakhstan exceeded 128% year-on-year, confirming sustained growth in demand for Belarusian goods on the Kazakh market. The main export items are milk and dairy products, meat and meat products, and sugar. The sides noted that the well-developed retail network of Kazakhstan provides a solid foundation for further dynamic growth in Belarusian food supplies. They also discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in agricultural raw material processing.

The meeting with Oksana Lut focused on bilateral cooperation, including the current state of mutual supplies of agricultural goods and food, as well as promising cooperation projects.

Iran, one of Asia’s largest producers and exporters of dairy products, is seen by Belarus as a promising market and potential cooperation partner. The sides discussed facilitating the certification of Belarusian poultry enterprises to allow their products onto the Iranian market. The Belarusian side expressed interest in expanding its export range and is ready to provide all necessary information to complete the certification procedures successfully.
