Mirnyi/Tecau through to BNP Paribas Masters second round

          Belarus’ Max Mirnyi and Romania’s Horia Tecau have progressed to the round of 16 at the BNP Paribas Masters. On 30 October they celebrated a labored 7:6 (7:3), 7:6 (7:5) victory against Lukasz Kubot (Poland) / Robert Lindstedt (Sweden). The match lasted for 1 hour and 42 minutes. Max Mirnyi and Horia Tecau are set to compete for a place in the quarterfinal against the Spanish duo David Marrero / Fernando Verdasco, who are seeded sixth. This is the last chance for Max Mirnyi and Horia Tecau to score much needed points in order to get into the top eight duos of the world which will be in action at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals due in London from 4 to 11 November. The Belarusian-Romanian duo are now 9th with 2,515 points. Poland’s Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski are eighth in the ATP rankings with 2,865 points and they also take part in the tournament in Paris. On 30 October they defeated Kenny de Schepper and Pierre-Hugues Herbert of France 6:4, 7:6 (8:6) in the round of 32.
