Belarus is quite capable of not resorting to major foreign loans. The statement was made by head of the IMF mission in Belarus David Hofman. He believes that the Belarusian authorities have a considerable degree of control over the situation. “If they take proper economic policy measures in line with our recommendations, I am confident that they will be able to handle the situation,” said David Hofman.
Led by David Hofman, an IMF mission is in Minsk for the sake of the fifth post-program monitoring discussions of the Belarus economy.
