Kharitonchik: Removal of barriers in CU will speed up modernization of Belarusian enterprises

The removal of barriers to the free flow of goods in the Customs Union will speed up the modernization of the Belarusian enterprises, Dmitry Kharitonchik, the chairman of the permanent commission on industry, fuel and energy, transport and communications of the House of Representatives, said commenting on the results of the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Minsk. Dmitry Kharitonchik noted that Belarus is ready for this as it managed to preserve and develop its industry that was created in the times of the Soviet Union. “Today we see that we need modernization, even accelerated modernization. And this applies not only to the means of production but also to management tools,” Dmitry Kharitonchik underlined. The modernization of all sectors of the Belarusian economy has been underway for several years already, and has yielded certain results. “The business plans are devised to develop new technologies and goods, to renew the line-ups, and to improve the quality of products. The modernization of an enterprise should be complex: from the personnel to the replacement of the production lines with more advanced and efficient ones,” Dmitry Kharitonchik noted.
