Ukraine-Russia-OSCE contact group holds video conference


       Members of the Ukraine-Russia-OSCE contact group held a video conference with the participation of the office of the presiding side in the OSCE and officials of the self-proclaimed republics, we learnt from the OSCE press service. According to the OSCE, the discussion was held in a constructive atmosphere. The organization noted that the video conference was held following the decisions adopted in Minsk on 5 and 19 September.
The participants of the video conference stressed that the level of violence in the conflict zone had recently reduced. They agreed that this positive trend should be supported and the parties would spare no effort to make the observance of ceasefire agreements even more stable.
       The members of the trilateral group stressed that the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission should be provided with an opportunity to observe the ceasefire zone according to the mandate. The participants of the video conference also raised issues related to the restoration of the economic infrastructure of the region in conflict, including water and electricity supplies and railway communication. The participants agreed to continue the discussion of these issues in the near future.
