Belarus, Russia to draft agreement on cooperation in public healthcare


      Belarus and Russia will develop a consolidated agreement on cooperation in public healthcare. A decision to start preparations on this document was taken at the first meeting of the working group for the implementation of the resolution of the Supreme State Council of the Union State “On equal rights of citizens in the social area” adopted in December 2013, the Union State Permanent Committee reports. The subject of the agreement will be the provision of free medical assistance to citizens of Belarus in Russia and vice versa, mutual recognition of qualifications in the two countries and also academic degrees, titles and professional experience of healthcare workers, and cooperation in the field of additional education, internship and residency.
      The meeting was chaired by Deputy Health Minister of Belarus Igor Lositsky. It was attended by representatives of the Health Ministries of Belarus and Russia, the Permanent Committee of the Union State, the Russian Embassy in Belarus.
