Semashko: BATE seeks to boost supplies to Russia’s AvtoVaz

Belarus would like to increase supplies of vehicle components made by the Borisov-based plant BATE to Russia’s AvtoVaz, First Deputy Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko said as he met with a delegation of the Russian company led by AvtoVaz President Bo Andersson, BelTA reports. “There are some pre-conditions for ramping up sales,” Vladimir Semashko noted.
Bo Andersson shared his impressions of the meetings he attended during the visit: “Here people are focused on their work and I like it”. He said that it was important to increase the market share up to 10% from the strategic point of view. According to him, AvtoVaz was not active enough on the Belarusian market.
Bo Andersson was impressed by what he saw at BATE. He believes the cooperation has great prospects. “Starters and generators are competitive from the technical point of view. However, a lot still has to be done to improve production processes,” he said.
