Belarus president speaks against leaving CIS in a rush

        Never rush when thinking about whether to leave the Commonwealth of Independent States or not. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he met with heads of the delegations taking part in the session of the CIS Heads of Government Council in Minsk. In his opinion, the CIS represents a good platform for negotiations and discussions, including private and bilateral ones. The Belarusian head of state said he believes that it is a bad idea to make hasty steps to leave the Commonwealth of Independent States.
        Alexander Lukashenko said that the Ukrainian side “has an understanding that there is definitely no rush if anything has to be done in this regard”.
