Lukashenko sends Victory Day greetings to foreign leaders


        President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to foreign heads of state, renowned public officials and heads of integration associations, the presidential press service reports. “The feat of participants of the Great Patriotic War who prevailed in the fierce fight against fascism is a glaring example of genuine fortitude, spiritual solidarity and historical unity of our fraternal nations. I am convinced that all-round development of Belarus-Russia cooperation will contribute to the social and economic prosperity of Belarus and Russia, will enhance the authority of our countries in the international arena in the future. It will also help us successfully cope with modern challenges and threats,” Alexander Lukashenko said in a message of greetings addressed to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
       During a recent working visit to Russia, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko met with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The Russian Prime Minister stressed that the visit took place on the eve of an important date in the history of the two nations - Victory Day:

      “In our countries this is a hallowed date, revered by all, from veterans to representatives of younger generations.
      I believe this is right. This tradition should never be revised, whatever the political situation. I’d like to convey greetings and congratulations on behalf of the Russian government to all Belarusian veterans.”
