Belarus, Mexico sign cooperation agreement

The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) signed a cooperation agreement with Mexico’s National Chamber of the Manufacturing Industry (CANACINTRA). The signing ceremony took place during a business visit by the Belarusian delegation to Mexico, organized under the auspices of the Minsk Office of BelCCI, BelTA has learned.

The delegation participated in CANACINTRA’s national congress, where Belarusian representatives spoke during the plenary session on such topics as business operations, attracting investment to Belarus, and cooperation in the food and engineering sectors. As part of the congress, B2B negotiations were held with Mexican companies, and a visit was organized to a dairy plant in the state of Morelos. The highlight of the visit was the signing of the cooperation agreement between BelCCI and CANACINTRA. The document outlines plans to organize mutual business missions, joint exhibitions and conferences, and the creation of a platform for B2B interaction between enterprises.

During its visit to Mexico, the Belarusian delegation showcased key aspects of the country's business and investment potential, placing special emphasis on opportunities to supply agricultural and utility vehicles and high-quality dairy products, including powdered milk. The delegation toured the Toluca Industrial Park to examine its modern infrastructure and services. Talks were held with park’s Director General Rogelio Argüelles and local business representatives. The visit resulted in the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Free Economic Zone Minsk and the Toluca Industrial Park, laying the foundation for joint industrial projects.

In Mexico City and Cuernavaca the delegation held several meetings with representatives from leading institutions: the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Agricultural Council, the National Chamber of Dairy Industry, and the Ministry of Agriculture of Morelos State. The meetings focused on potential supplies of Belarusian equipment, standardization of dairy products, and pilot projects in agriculture.

“This visit has opened strategic opportunities for Belarusian exports to the North American market. The agreements with Toluca Industrial Park and CANACINTRA establish infrastructure for systematic cooperation with Mexican partners,” stressed Irina Ivanova, Deputy Director General for Foreign Economic Relations of the Minsk Office of BelCCI.
