The relations between Belarus and Türkiye are strategic, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said as she met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Belarus Güçlu Cem İşık on 31 October, BelTA has learned.
“We are ready to implement all the tasks we face in our joint work and we are always ready for dialogue. Belarus and Türkiye have enjoyed good and friendly relations for many years now. Of course, this is primarily the merit of our presidents. The heads of state maintain contacts, hold meetings at various international events, discuss issues of interaction between Belarus and Türkiye. Thanks to this, the relations between our countries are strategic,” Natalya Kochanova said.
Belarus is interested in intensifying the interparliamentary dialogue, the speaker stressed. According to Natalya Kochanova, now, when the world is turbulent, when the process of transition from unipolar to multipolar world order is underway, the voice of MPs should be louder.
“Today's international conference on Eurasian security is a direct confirmation of that,” the chairperson of the Council of the Republic added. “In his speech, the Belarusian president said that there was a lot of injustice in this world, but justice would still prevail. The most important thing for us, of course, is peace. When we hear that there are 56 hotbeds on the planet now, we cannot but be concerned. Türkiye, as well as our country, has acted as a negotiating platform for the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. We would like to hope that soon this conflict will be resolved and people will live peacefully in this European part of the planet.”
