Belarus to boost cooperation with Kazakhstan in engineering industry

A new plant and production lines to make automotive equipment will open in Kazakhstan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan Pavel Utyupin said in an interview to STV Channel, BelTA has learned.

According to Pavel Utyupin, Kazakhstan President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev may make an official visit to Belarus in Q3 2024, which will give a new impetus to the relations between the two friendly countries.

The ambassador emphasized prospects for Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation in machine-building. There are production sites in Kazakhstan, where tractors, harvesters, and trucks are produced. “In late March-early April, we plan to commission, in fact, a new plant to produce truck cabs,” Pavel Utyupin said, adding that Kazakhstan will set up a full cycle production of the kind.

According to the ambassador, a new tractor assembly line will be introduced at the plant built jointly with the Kazakh partner. “We have a number of new projects that we are working out with Kazakhstan, based on the competitiveness of our Belarusian product and the capabilities of Belarusian enterprises. We are talking about fire and rescue equipment to localize it here create jobs, and to be able to participate in the supply of this equipment,” Pavel Utyupin said.

The ambassador added that the same applies to passenger vehicles, including Belarusian electric buses, and a network of electric charging stations.
