MPs should step up and bolster cooperation with parliamentarians of like-minded states, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said at the opening of the tenth session of the House of Representatives of the seventh convocation on 19 September, BelTA has learned.
"The House of Representatives' international agenda is shaped by the participation of the Republic of Belarus in the processes of forming a new, more just world order. Today, the international prestige and role of such associations as the Eurasian Economic Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and BRICS are noticeably increasing. The number of countries participating in these organizations is expanding. And Belarus is among them," Vladimir Andreichenko said.
The MPs should promote contacts with parliamentarians of like-minded states through friendship groups, in inter-parliamentary organizations, in the format of public diplomacy, the speaker noted. "The tasks remain unchanged: to persistently and continuously promote a peaceful, unifying agenda and strengthen the international image of Belarus as a reliable economic partner," he stressed.
