A music e-library to be created in the CIS

A single music e-library might be created in the CIS. The proposal was voiced during the presentation of the project Single Music and Educational System at a session of the CIS Conservatory and Music Academy Rectors Council. The Single Music and Educational System will bring together music schools and a publishing center and will use the latest solutions in music reproduction and delivery of teaching materials. One of the most promising projects is the creation of a music e-library of the Commonwealth. The electronic database will look like an online store offering digitalized sheet music, books and sound records. The single database will be available to everyone. Students of music schools, colleges and universities will be able to get an access to the store on subscription. “These are not just digitalized pieces of music. The database will also feature materials on the history of music works, teaching techniques and master classes. The search will be facilitated by a catalogue where sheet music will be classified depending on instruments and degree of complexity,” Director General of the publishing house Muzyka- P.Jurgenson, President of P.I. Tchaikovsky International Charity Foundation Mark Zilberquit said.
