The project to build the Belarusian nuclear power plant was presented in the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told media.
The project was presented by Yuri Yaroshevich, Head of the Sector for Economic Cooperation and Sustainable Development of the Central Office for Multilateral Diplomacy of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. In his speech the official underlined that the implementation of the project will allow bolstering Belarus’ stance in energy security matters, will raise the competitive ability of the Belarus economy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The technical conference to assess the influence of projects to build nuclear power plants on the social and macroeconomic development parameters of nations is taking place in Vienna on 9-13 September.
