The Belarusian head of government Mikhail Myasnikovich heard out a report from Industry Minister Dmitry Katerinich regarding the Ministry’s fulfillment of the goals set by the national social and economic development forecast for 2013. The report also touched upon the enhancement of the competitive ability of products and import substitution as well as the progress in implementing modernization plans of the corporations accountable to the Industry Ministry.
Dmitry Katerinich remarked that due to the reduced traditional markets in the European Union and the Russian Federation the main task for Industry Ministry enterprises is to reroute deliveries to new markets while exporting as much as possible to conventional markets.
Speaking about modernization, the Industry Minister pointed out that the main purpose is to create and start manufacturing products compliant with international and European requirements and standards that will be competitive on the home and foreign markets.
