Government discusses Belarus’ 2014 social, economic targets

       The current economic situation and the country’s economic performance in 2013, the draft projections of social and economic development of Belarus for 2014, draft budget and monetary policy guidelines and measures to develop monetary system were discussed at a government session chaired by Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich.
       The session worked out additional measures aimed at increasing and diversifying export, clearing backlogs, optimizing budget expenses and raising additional revenue to modernize the economy, including foreign direct investment. Additional sources of inflow of foreign currency in 2013-2014 and measures to optimize import were also outlined.
     As it was noted, the decisions will help strengthen the economic and energy security of Belarus.
