The investment projects that Belarusian Steel Works BMZ is implementing are world-class projects. The statement was made by Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich. During the working trip to Mogilev and Gomel regions the Belarusian head of government was made familiar with the progress in implementing the largest investment projects by the Belarusian tire manufacturer OAO Belshina and Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ). “These projects will shape the face of the Belarus economy tomorrow,” believes the Prime Minister. “Such groundbreaking projects with an impressive volume of investments can produce benefits within the shortest time possible”. Belshina is working non-stop to gradually modernize all the three factories. The Prime Minister emphasized that the implementation of the investment projects will advance Belshina’s tires to an international quality level. Mikhail Myasnikovich was made familiar with the progress in building a light-section mill in OAO BMZ. The production of rolled section steel will allow phasing out trade in cast sections and blooms. It will enable the company to make products with a higher added value. The cost of the project is about €330 million. “At present BMZ sells 19.5% of the steel output as blooms,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich. “The commissioning of the innovative rolled section steel production facility opens up great prospects”.
