Intra-EAEU sales, union’s foreign trade grow at fast rate

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) records high growth in the internal and foreign trade of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), BelTA has learned.

“The intra-EAEU trade is recovering fast. In January-November 2021, the union’s internal trade amounted to $65.5 billion, up 32.4% compared to the same period last year and up 17.8% from the pre-pandemic period of January-November 2019,” the EEC press service.

All the member states posted an increase in the intra-EAEU sales: Kazakhstan - 35.3%, Russia - 35.2%, Kyrgyzstan - 30.4%, Armenia - 27.4%, Belarus - 24.8%.

The EAEU foreign trade in goods amounted to $752 billion in January-November 2021, including $465.9 billion in exports and $286.1 billion in imports. Export supplies increased by 42.5% and the import ones by 22.8% compared with the same period last year.

“In January-November 2021, Belarus’ export of goods to countries outside the EAEU went up 50.3%, Russia’s supplies increased by 45.4%, Kazakhstan’s - by 23% and Armenia’s - by 16.3% compared to January-November 2020. The EU countries (42.2% of the total) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (28.6%) were the main buyers of the EAEU goods. China and Germany were the main importers to the EAEU market,” the press service said.
