The vaccination of frontline healthcare workers has started in Belarus

The vaccination of frontline healthcare workers has started in Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Healthcare Ministry. The Healthcare Ministry noted that it is a common global practice to start vaccination from healthcare workers. The Healthcare Ministry has distributed the vaccines across the regions depending on applications of healthcare institutions. The cold chain compliance procedure is observed. In 2020, Belarus signed a contract for the supply of 170,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine. Earlier Belarus received several small batches of this vaccine. Another batch of 20,000 doses arrived in the country in the run-up to the New Year. This batch has already passed the quality control. “The testing was carried out by a testing laboratory registered in the National Accreditation System of Belarus. In the first quarter of 2021, the need for the Sputnik V vaccine is to be covered by domestic pharmaceutical companies,” the press service said.
