MAZ signs major supply contracts with Ukraine, Turkmenistan

Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) has concluded major contracts for the supply of motor vehicles to Ukraine and Turkmenistan in 2013, Deputy Commercial Director of OAO MAZ Vitaly Goncharik told reporters.  MAZ has signed a contract to supply 1,000 grain-carriers to Ukraine and a contract to supply 2,000 dump trucks to Turkmenistan. Equipment will be delivered to these countries until the end of the year. MAZ took out an export credit from ASB Belarusbank to implement the contracts, noted Vitaly Goncharik.
He noted that in the first half 2013 MAZ’s shipments to the CIS and other countries tripled both in natural and monetary terms. In the first half of the year MAZ exported 3,000 vehicles to non-CIS countries. Deliveries to foreign countries account for approximately 15-20% of total exports this year. The main sales markets are the CIS countries, primarily Russia and Ukraine. Among the most promising markets in the CIS, in addition to the traditional Russian market, are Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. Vitaly Goncharik said that now work is underway on expanding and building new assembly plants in Kazakhstan. Now there are two assembly plants for Belarusian trucks there. The projects include new joint ventures in Semipalatinsk and in Astana.
