Belarus ready to expand cooperation with Laos

Belarus is ready to expand cooperation with Laos in various fields, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said welcoming Lao President Choummaly Sayasone in Minsk. The President of Belarus noted that in today's globalizing world the geographic remoteness of countries is no longer an issue. The President noted that the trade between the countries is quite small, and therefore there is a need for increased cooperation in all areas. Besides, Alexander Lukashenko noted that there are good prospects for cooperation in science and education, military and technical cooperation and other areas of interest to the Lao Government and society.

For his part, Lao President Choummaly Sayasone stressed that Laos views Belarus as a close friend. He praised the economic development and improved well-being of the people of Belarus.

According to the President of Laos, the agreements planned to be signed during the visit will contribute to the development of bilateral ties in various fields.
