Foreign investors in Belarus have started to reinvest their profits more actively, Director of the National Agency for Investment and privatization (NAIP) Dmitry Klevzhits told reporters. In this matter Belarus is guided by the gold standard in Europe where 50-60% of the profit is invested into development of production. In Belarus, the figure is only 8%."We are in the middle of contract negotiations with many foreign investors in Belarus. We help them to reinvest profits received here in further development. Investors are interested in the support of the NAIP in this process,” said Dmitry Klevzhits. Investors in Belarus actively reinvest their profits in the food industry, the communications industry. Dmitri Klevzhits also said that the Agency continues to work on the pilot project with the World Bank to attract strategic investors for eight Belarusian companies in the food industry, construction and other fields. “By the end of the summer we will announce certain investors who will invest in these companies,” said Dmitry Klevzhits. He noted the interest of Belarus in attracting investment from transnational corporations. “Reaching out to large companies and getting them involved in Belarus will encourage other companies to invest in Belarus,” he said.
