The international festival of the Slavonic martial arts was held in Grodno, Belarus, we learnt from head of the Grodno public association “The Aridan Slavonic martial arts club” Vladimir Adamov.
About 40 sports and knights clubs from Russia, Ukraine and other CIS countries partook in the event. Units from the Defence and Interior Ministries of Belarus featured, too.
It is the 13th time the event has been held in Grodno. The festival was organized by the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee, the Belarusian Union of Afghanistan War Veterans, the Aridan Slavonic martial arts club and the Grodno Federation of Hand-to-Hand Fighting.
The event is meant to popularize and develop the Slavonic martial arts, patriotic education and raise public interest in the Slavonic ethnography and folklore.
