Makei: Youth public organizations are important for CIS integration

         Youth public organizations play an important role in the CIS integration process, Chairman of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers, Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said in his welcoming speech addressed to the participants and organizers of the annual Eurasian Youth Forum “A Step Closer” hosted by Yerevan, Armenia.
         Vladimir Makei commended the initiative of the CIS Youth Union to hold the forum “A Step Closer” in the year of the Belarusian chairmanship in the CIS. Currently the role of youth public organizations in promoting various integration forms in the CIS is more than ever huge.
“Common history, peoples’ aspiration to independence and sovereignty and the willingness to establish friendly and good-neighborly ties is a key to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between our states,” Vladimir Makei’s address reads.
Vladimir Makei also expressed hope that the initiatives and proposals of the youth forum will translate into concrete joint projects.
