Ten gold medals for Belarus at Marina Lobach RG competition

         Belarus’ rhythmic gymnasts have won 10 gold medals in 11 events at the 12th international rhythmic gymnastics competition of the Belarusian physical education and sports society Dinamo for the prizes of the 1988 Olympic champion Marina Lobach. The competition was held in the Palace of Tennis in MInsk. The sportsmen competed in three age groups. The competition featured individual and all-round events and group exercises, about 80 rhythmic gymnasts from 10 countries participating in the tournament. In the 1998-2000 age group Belarus’ Anna Bozhko won three gold medals in the ball, clubs and ribbon events, finishing in the second place in the hoop event. In the junior competition Anna Gornosko was second to none, clinching gold medals in all events. Other Belarusians in this age group won three silver and one bronze medal. The youngest age group took five medals, too. In the group exercises Belarusian rhythmic gymnasts won the gold medal in the competition featuring five hoops, Latvia and Finland completing the top three. The overall competition table was topped by Belarus who ended with 22 medals (ten gold, seven silver and five bronze). The competition for the prizes of Maria Lobach is the final preparation for the 2013 European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships that will be held in Vienna, Austria, from 25 May to 3 June.
