Union State MPs to discuss regional cooperation in Vitebsk

        Status and prospects of economic and trade cooperation between Vitebsk region and regions of the Russian Federation will be discussed at a regular meeting of the commission for economic policy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State. The meeting will be held in Vitebsk on 13 March. The participants will discuss a promising economic Union State project: the concept of scientific-technical program "Developing the scientific and technological platform for the manufacture of highly-effective pharmaceutical and biologically-safe products of functional nutrition, hygiene and medical products of new generation based on lactoferrin and other human proteins." The project is scheduled for implementation in 2014-2018. Representatives of several ministries and departments of Belarus and Russia will provide information on the status of preparation of the draft program of the Union State "Innovative development of production of potatoes and artichoke". The draft program is expected to be submitted for approval of the Council of Ministers of the Union State.
Apart from that, the Union State MPs will consider a number of organizational issues, approve the action plan of the commission for 2013 and discuss budget issues.
