National Library plans to return nearly 500 rare books to Belarus

The National Library of Belarus plans to return nearly 500 rare books to the country. The library has worked out a list of investment projects for facsimile production of Belarusian rare books. According to Roman Motulsky,
today the list includes Belarusian chronics, belles-lettres, and works by representatives of various Belarusian confessions. The National Library's Director noted that there are many unique book of Belarus abroad today. To return the originals is not always easy. Therefore specialists implement investment projects on facsimile or digital production of the copies. Bringing the most outstanding specimens of the national book culture into the broad scientific and public circulation, by means of, for example, facsimile reprints, will help solve many challenges associated with promoting the national book heritage, and intensifying book research in the country.
