Digital declarations for about 90% of Belarus import by late 2013

        By late 2013 digital declarations should be used for about 90% of Belarus’ import. The forecast was voiced by Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus (SCC) Mr Alexander Shpilevsky after the seventh session of the united board of the customs services of the Customs Union member states. At present digital declarations are used for 95% of Belarus’ export and 83% of the import. It is the best figure among the Customs Union member states.
Russian and Kazakh customs authorities are also busy introducing digital declaration practices in the operation of economic entities. “The idea is to bring together the positions of the three countries in this matter,” said Mr Andrei Belyaninov, head of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.
The seventh session of the united board of the customs services of the Customs Union member states took place in the Belarusian town of Novopolotsk. It was dedicated to the improvement of customs regulations on required advance electronic presentation of cargo information, the organization of information interaction between the customs services of Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan, the application of the TIR Convention in cargo transportation in the Customs Union. A session of the board of the Union State Customs Committee also took place.
