The 22nd international festival Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk is scheduled to take place on 11-17 July 2013. Preparations for the event were discussed at a session of the organizing committee held by Vice Premier of Belarus Mr Anatoly Tozik.
The session tabled the main conceptual approaches to holding the festival and the program of its main events. Following the established tradition before the opening and after the closing of the festival solo concerts by pop stars will take place in the Summer Amphitheater. Anatoly Tozik, chairman of the organizing committee in charge of preparing and holding the festival, remarked that the festival is a landmark one, a cultural brand that has to be developed taking into account important events in the country and the need to reflect the best achievements of the national culture and the culture of Slavonic nations. The unity of Slavonic cultures and nations will be the main idea of the 22nd international art festival Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk.
The main traditional components of the festival will be preserved. Those are gala concerts on the opening and closing nights, concerts by artists of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, the Union State, the international pop song contest Vitebsk 2013, an international children’s music contest, the Youth Day, theater and movie projects, and individual artistic actions. Proposals have been voiced to use original ways to reach the audience, vary the genre choice of the events.
