A delegation of government officials from the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) praised Belarus’ achievements in dealing with forced migration, the Belarusian Interior Ministry informed.
“The delegation which is in Belarus on a visit lauded Belarus’ achievements in addressing the issues of forced migration. They praised the level of cooperation between the government bodies, international and non-government organizations. The visit has been organized in line with the 2016 work plan of the permanent working group for asylum seekers under the Coordination Council of the Heads of CSTO Competent Authorities on Counteracting Irregular Migration,” the Belarusian Interior Ministry noted.
The study visit to Belarus was organized due to UNHCR’s and CSTO’s positive assessment of the national legislation in the field of forced migration and its practical application.
