Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Argentina Susana Malcorra expressed support towards establishing closer cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the Mercosur (the South American common market) at a meeting in New York, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told media.
During the meeting the parties paid special attention to the bilateral relations and the ways to expand cooperation between Belarus and Argentina, first of all in the economic, investment and trade sectors. “In particular, the parties discussed the ways to develop bilateral economic cooperation, including through the setting up of joint manufacturing facilities for a wider and more efficient use of the potential and market opportunities of the big trading unions which Belarus and Argentina make part of: EEU and Mercosur,” the press service of the ministry noted.
