Belarus, Switzerland discuss prospects of bilateral dialogue

      Another round of the Belarusian-Swiss ministerial consultations at the level of directors of the political departments of the Foreign Ministries of the two countries took place in Minsk.
Prior to the consultations the head of the Swiss delegation and Ambassador of Switzerland to Belarus (based in Warsaw) Lukas Beglinger met with Deputy Foreign Minister Yelena Kupchina. During the meeting, the head of the Swiss diplomatic mission presented his credentials. The Swiss delegation was also received by Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alexander Guryanov.
    During the meetings with senior officials of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry and in the course of the ministerial consultations the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral dialogue and cooperation in trade, economy and investment, and other aspects of the Belarusian-Swiss cooperation.
Views were exchanged on approaches and possibilities for cooperation within the framework of international and pan-European organizations, including in the light of the upcoming Swiss OSCE chairmanship in 2014. In addition, the two parties discussed other topics of mutual interest.
