Belarus keeps Lithuania informed on the progress in the construction of the nuclear power plant in Ostrovets, BelTA quotes Director General of the Belarusian NPP Nikolai Filimonov. The Director General pointed out that the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is close to the border with Lithuania, so this country’s interest in the project is easy to understand.

“This is why they have questions, and we are ready to answer them,” he said. The Belarusian nuclear power plant will have two power-generating units with the total output capacity of up to 2,400MW. The first power-generating unit is scheduled for commissioning in 2018, with the second one to go online in 2020.
