Belarus second at Slovakia Cup in Zilina

The Belarusian national ice hockey team finished second at the Slovakia Cup in Zilina. The teams’ final standings were determined following the game between Slovakia and Switzerland. The hosts of the tournament took a solid 4-0 win to finish on top. The Belarusian team under coach Dave Lewis suffered a narrow loss (1-2) against Slovakia at the start of the tournament on 11 February. One day later, on 12 February, Belarus beat Switzerland 3-1. In the run-up to the IIHF World Championship in May 2016 the Belarusian national team will play a number of games in the Euro Ice Hockey Challenge against the teams of France, Latvia, Switzerland and Germany.
