Latvia is interested in increasing the throughput capacity of railway transportation in the Belarusian-Latvian direction.

       Latvia is interested in increasing the throughput capacity of railway transportation in the Belarusian-Latvian direction. Latvia is ready to take part in joint investments to do it.The matters were discussed at a meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Latvia Mr Alexander Gerasimenko and Chairman of the Board of the state corporation Latvian Railways Mr Ugis Magonis.
      At the meeting results and promising avenues of Belarus-Latvia cooperation development in transport and transit were discussed. Positive changes in the volume of bilateral cargo transportation, Belarusian export and transit with transshipment in Latvian ports in 2012 were pointed out.
The meeting also touched upon matters regarding the holding of the national expo of Belarus and the Belarusian-Latvian business forum that will take place in Riga on 6-9 December.
