Yermolovich: New program with IMF is ready

         Belarus’ new program with the IMF is ready, Belarus First Deputy Finance Minister Maksim Yermolovich told reporters. “We are ready to discuss it and hope that in a fairly short period of time we will be able to agree on the basic positions with the IMF and start implementing it,” said Maksim Yermolovich. However, he pointed out that "given the situation in the global market and the pressure on the International Monetary Fund the IMF’s possibilities with regards to the new program with Belarus are also limited.” The Belarusian side understands this and yet is prepared to discuss the issue with the IMF mission which starts its work in the country.
      Maksim Yermolovich recalled that the Government has adopted a package of measures to stabilize the economic situation in Belarus, and is planning structural changes in the economy. "We hope that this comprehensive package of measures could become the basis for the new program with the IMF. We will discuss these issues with the IMF mission,” he noted.
