Belarusian Transport Minister in favor of higher export of transit services

      Transit is one of the most effective kinds of exported services while investments in this sphere boast fast returns. The statement was made by Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Anatoly Sivak at the session of the Ministry’s board in Orsha.
    “We see the potential for the transport industry’s larger contribution to the overall volume of the gross domestic product by means of developing international transportation and operating transport corridors. The transport industry earns considerable revenues for the state budget by providing transit services, contributes to the development of domestic and foreign trade and to the country’s balance of payments. Transit is one of the most effective kinds of exported services while investments in this sphere boast fast returns,” stressed the Minister.
      2014 saw work done on 55 projects outlined by the government program on developing Belarus’ transit potential in 2011-2015.
