Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei met with a delegation of political directors of the foreign ministries of the Visegrad Group member states, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reported. It was the first time the visit was held in such a format. The delegation included political director of the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Lubomir Rehak, political director of the Foreign Ministry of Hungary Levente Benko, political director of the Foreign Ministry of Poland Jaroslaw Bratkiewicz and political director of the Foreign Ministry of Czechia Vaclav Balek.
The parties shared views on the situation in the region and cooperation prospects between Belarus and the European Union, including Belarus’ participation in the Eastern Partnership Initiative.
They also discussed a possibility to deepen cooperation within the framework of the Visegrad Group and ways to promote a dialogue between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union.
