Kupala, Kolas translation competition announced in Belarus

      A contest for the best translation of Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas works into Chinese has been announced in Belarus to mark the 130th birthday of the two Belarusian writers, we learnt from the Belarusian State University (BSU).
Works will be received until 26 October 2012 inclusive and will be selected in two nominations: Best Translated Poetry and Best Translated Prose.
      “Belarusian and Chinese students, postgrads as well as the academic staff of the Belarusian universities, schools and gymnasiums are welcome to partake in the competition,” the BSU press service said.
      More detailed information can be found at the website of the National Chinese Studies Center (Confucius Institute) of the Belarusian State University which runs the contest in cooperation with the Confucius Institute of the Minsk State Linguistic University and the Belarusian embassy in China.
