CSTO discusses international situation, regional security

The CSTO Foreign Ministers Council convened for a meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan on 30 June, BelTA learned.
The parties discussed in detail the international and regional situation and its impact on the security of the CSTO member states.

“The foreign ministers of the CSTO member states adopted statements on matters regarding international information security, countering radicalization leading to terrorism and extremism, the situation in the Middle East and the establishment of the United Nations Regional Center for the Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan,” CSTO spokeswoman Natalya Kharitonova told reporters following the meeting.

The foreign ministers discussed further cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization with the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The ministers also noted the successful implementation of the action plan to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, adopted by the CSTO Collective Security Council in November 2024.
