Golovchenko: Belarus and Egypt can open a new page of cooperation and friendship

Belarus and Egypt can open a new page of cooperation and friendship. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko made the statement as he met with Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mostafa Madbouly on 29 April, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko thanked his counterpart for inviting the Belarusian delegation to come to Egypt on an official visit. “The presidents of our countries have met several times. It seems to me that they have a very high level of mutual understanding and eagerness to step up Belarus-Egypt relations across the board,” Roman Golovchenko said.

The prime minister also pointed out that the Belarusian side had thoroughly prepared for the meeting: “We hope that fruitful negotiations that we will hold during our stay in Cairo will open a new page in the history of partnership between Egypt and Belarus.”

“The history of our cooperation and friendship dates back to the times of the Soviet Union when Belarusian specialists participated in the implementation of many projects in Egypt. I believe, Mr. Prime Minister, we should grab this chance – our meeting, the negotiations we will hold between delegations – in order to open a new page, new cooperation avenues where we need to exercise even more efforts for the benefit of the economy of our countries,” Roman Golovchenko concluded.
