Petrishenko: CIS economies, including Belarus, returned to growth in 2023

The CIS countries, including Belarus, have returned to economic growth in 2023, Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko said at the CIS Economic Council meeting in Moscow on 8 December, BelTA reports.

 

“In 2023, all our member states have managed to return to economic growth, including Belarus and Russia, that continue to be under sanctions of the collective West,” said Igor Petrishenko.

 

For example, in January - October 2023, Belarus' GDP grew by 3.8%. “The industrial output expanded by 8%, agricultural output rose by 1.2%. The country's foreign trade in goods with the CIS countries increased by more than 6% in monetary terms,” the deputy prime minister added.
