The Joint Conference of Confucius Institutes in Europe will be held at the Belarusian State University (BSU).
Invitations to take part in the forum were sent to over 250 scholars of 77 Confucius Institutes from 19 European countries. This large-scale forum will be held in Belarus for the first time and is expected to feature the greatest number of participants in its entire history.
On the first day of the congress Director-General of Hanban and Chief Executive of Confucius Institute Headquarters Xu Lin will be solemnly awarded the title of the BSU Professor Emeritus. The Confucius Institute of the Belarusian State University will open branches at the Belarusian State Economic University, Grodno State University, Gomel State University and Minsk Gymnasium No. 23. The forum will be structured into four sections where participants will discuss the promotion and Chinese studies and the Chinese language and culture in Europe, ways to expand cooperation between Confucius Institutes in Europe and implement new projects.
The first Joint Conference of Confucius Institutes in Europe was held in Brussels in 2009.
