EEC committee to discuss advance cargo information for railway transport in Minsk

         A draft resolution of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board on introducing mandatory advance cargo information for commodities, which are imported into the customs territory of the Customs Union by railroad, will be discussed at the fifth session of the Advisory Committee for Customs Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The session will take place in Minsk on 28 August. The resolution has been put together by the Eurasian Economic Commission in association with the customs services of the Customs Union member states, railway operators, other government agencies. Participants of the session are expected to discuss the document with representatives of the business circles of Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan. Apart from that, the session will table a draft resolution of the EEC Board on facilitating the customs declaration of vehicles in international transportation. The measure is supposed to contribute to enabling more favorable conditions for shipping companies registered in the Customs Union member states. At the session members of the Committee will also discuss several matters concerning the evaluation of the customs value of commodities, analysis of reference rules of the Customs Code of the Customs Union and several other matters.
