Belarus, Austria hold online conference on constitutional law

    Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko took part in the Belarus-Austria online conference on constitutional law, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Oleg Kravchenko emphasized the benefits of exchanging the nations’ best practices in the field of constitutional law, as well as a great value of such a dialogue for bilateral relations. A department head of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria, a well-known expert in constitutional and international law, Helmut Tichy, spoke about the history behind the fundamental law of Austria, its basic principles and concepts, the work on its improvement, the role of individual branches of power.The presentation by Head of the Constitutional Law Department of the Faculty of Law of Belarusian State University, Doctor of Law, Professor Grigory Vasilevich focused on a comparative analysis of the Belarusian and Austrian constitutions with an emphasis on the checks and balances in both countries. The event was moderated by Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of Belarusian State University, Doctor of History, Professor Viktor Shadursky.
